The first major update since the War Update has been released for Team Fortress 2. The patch fixes a host of issues, including achievement and gameplay glitches stemming from the Soldier and Demo updates. As always simply restart your Steam Client and the changes will automatically take effect.

With the War Update coming close to an end, both the Soldier and Demo have each received some great new updates as well as all new achievement lists. For the Soldier, we have the Turn Pro, a rocket launcher with 25% more powerful and 80% faster rockets, The Equalizer, a melee slot pick-axe, and The Buff Banner, a motivating force that gives players around you critical hits for 14 seconds upon activation. On the Demo's Side, we have the Eyelander and Chargin' Targe, a sword and shield combo with +50% fire damage resistance and +65% blast damage resistance, along with a powerful melee spot weapon. Oh and how can we forget the Scottish Resistance, a new sticky launcher that can lay down twice as many sticky bombs, as well as destroy enemy sticky bombs. However the war update is not done yet. As of now the Soldier Class still has the lead, but there is plenty of time left and some new special hidden update yet to come (most likely to be determined by the winner of War Update). So be sure to check back!

The Team Fortress team has selected its winners from the recent Propaganda Contest, with the first prize winner taking home 50,000 War Points to Soldier, and the two runner ups giving the team of their choice 25,000 points. Congrats to everyone who entered.

As of yesterday, the War Update has moved into full force. With over 1,390,017 demos killed to 1,290, 988 soldiers killed, the Soldiers do have a slight lead right now. However, there is still plenty of War left to be fought through the weekend. While no weapons, maps, or achievements have been unveiled as of yet, the Team Fortress 2 Team has unveiled a new Propaganda Contest. Now you can contribute to the war effort by designing a propaganda poster focused on the brave/cold-hearted Soldier/Demomen, thus inspiring new casualties and feeding our all-consuming thirst for war. There are some great prizes, although the team isn't revealing anything beyond "the first place prize is cooler than the 2nd and 3rd place prizes". Still, something to take a look at. There were also some new sprays unveiled today, one for each class. So depending on who your team is, the Demo, or the Soldier, be sure to download one today and show your support in game. That's all for now folks, but there is still plenty more to come in the update, so keep checking back!

As anticipated by the recent onslaught of media, a new update for Team Fortress 2 update has been released this evening entitled the "War Update". The update will be a class update for both the Demo-man and the Soldier (finally!), and will feature new weapons for each class along some maps, achievements, and surprises. The updates will continue you all week long, so keep check backing back daily for the latest details! In the meantime, to follow the update yourself, head on over to the Official War Update Hub.

Along with last night's midnight update, the Team Fortress 2 Blog has also been updated with a comic strip suggesting, of all things, a friendship between the blue soldier and red demoman. While the storyline has no specific details on what update is to come, it does hint that a new game mode might be in the works between the demoman and soldier class entitled "War". Valve's Twitter post for today furthers the speculation. The post also states that the friendship ends in one day, which could mean a major Team Fortress 2 update as early as tomorrow. We will keep you posted, but in the meantime checkout the Friendship Comic courtesy of the TF2 Blog.
